Douglas Schmitt recently contributed the Canadian chapter of the first edition (2011) of Shipping & International Trade Law, published by the European Lawyer Reference Series. The book provides an international comparative survey of the law about sale of goods, including maritime law, banking, letters of credit, carriage of goods, and ship arrest in 25 countries ranging from Argentina to the USA. The purpose is to provide an up to date and readily accessible guide to these issues, where various authors may be able to provide specific legal advice in their appropriate jurisdictions.

Megan Chorlton and Ann Halkett participated in a benchmarking exercise to determine the costs of using technology in-house to manage and produce evidentiary documents in civil litigation. The exercise was part of their involvement in the Practice and Procedures focus group and is discussed in the article “Benchmarking Technology Costs in Civil Litigation: Don’t Spend More Than You Need To” by Sandra Potter in The Advocate.
