Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (“CASL”) came into effect on July 1st, 2014. This stringent legislation will have implications for all Canadian businesses, regardless of their size. The legislation governs the sending of ‘Commercial Electronic Messages’, and requires that organizations obtain recipients’ implied or express consent before sending such communications.
