John Goundrey is a Partner in the firm and a member of the firm’s, Corporate / Commercial, Real Estate and Health Practices.

John represents corporate and institutional clients in a broad range of commercial transactions. He assists clients in the real estate sector with commercial, residential and mixed-use development, commercial leasing, lending and other real estate transactions. He assists clients in the railroad and trucking sectors on a broad range of operational, regulatory and transactional matters. He assists clients in the health care sector chiefly in procurement and in connection with the development and leasing of health care facilities.

  • Acting for the real estate development subsidiary of a major financial institution in connection with a number of mixed use development projects

  • Acting for a major oil company in a broad range of real estate and related environmental matters
  • Acting for British Columbia health authorities in connection with the development and operation of health care facilities, often in the context of a public-private partnership

On A Personal Note

John is a keen traveler and cyclist who sees touring the world on two wheels as an opportunity to eat and drink whatever he wants. He is also a runner and Bikram yoga enthusiast. He has a cabin on Saturna Island (one of British Columbia’s Southern Gulf Islands) where kayaking, hiking and making crab cakes is all there is to do. He has a keen interest in the preservation of Vancouver’s built heritage and has served as a member of the board of directors of the Vancouver Heritage Foundation for a number of years.
