PRACTICE PROFILE
Dianna Hwang chairs the firm’s Wealth Preservation & Estate Litigation Practice Group and is also a member of the Commercial Litigation and Local Government Practice Groups. Her practice is primarily litigation-based with an emphasis on estate and trusts litigation.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Has successfully represented her clients’ interests at trial and negotiated settlements with favourable results for her clients;
- Has appeared before all levels of Court in British Columbia;
- Has dealt with cases involving the Wills Variation Act, testamentary capacity, undue influence, interpretation of wills and trusts, allegations of breaches of duties by trustees, trust variation applications, charitable trusts, and committeeship applications;
- Has dealt with various types of municipal claims involving: land use issues, occupiers liability, building inspector negligence, property damage, negligent road design/signage, nuisance, abuse of power/public office, and challenges to by-laws; and
- Has provided advice to individuals, charities, financial institutions, and municipalities.
