PRACTICE PROFILE
Eileen Vanderburgh is a member of the firm’s Information & Privacy, Local Government, Health, Labour and Employment and Insurance Practices. Eileen is also a member of the firm’s Appeals Advisory Team. She advises and represents clients on a variety of matters including administrative and judicial review proceedings, information and privacy, contractual disputes and property damage claims. She acts for public sector clients including health care bodies, universities, and local governments. She also acts for forest industry and insurance clients.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Has appeared on behalf of clients in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Court of Appeal, mediations, arbitrations and before administrative tribunals.
- Acts as counsel for forest industry clients and major insurers in tort and contract claims including liability and damages arising from forest fires, timber trespass and forest road use, and timber appraisal.
- Advises and represents public bodies in complying with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Advises private sector clients on accessing information and preventing disclosure of business information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and compliance with the B.C. Personal Information Protection Act and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
- Acts as counsel on a variety of litigation and administrative law matters for public sector and private sector clients.
