PRACTICE PROFILE
Eileen Vanderburgh is a member of the firm’s Information & Privacy, Local Government, Health, and Insurance Law Practice. Eileen is also a member of the firm’s Appeals Advisory Team. She represents clients on a variety of matters including administrative and judicial review proceedings, information and privacy, contractual disputes, and property damage claims. She acts for a variety of clients, including public health care bodies, local governments, universities, forestry contractors and professionals, forest companies, and insurance companies.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Has appeared on behalf of clients in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Court of Appeal in mediations and arbitrations, and before administrative tribunals.
- Advises and represents public health care bodies in a variety of matters including governance, contractual issues and disputes, administrative law, and information and privacy.
- Advises and acts as counsel for local governments on a variety of matters, including building regulation and zoning, drainage and other public works, governance, and aboriginal law.
- Acts as counsel for forest industry clients and major insurers in tort and contract claims including liability and damages arising from forest fires, timber trespass, forest road use, and timber appraisal.
- Advises and represents public bodies in proceedings under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Advises private sector clients on accessing information and preventing disclosure of business information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and compliance with the B.C. Personal Information Protection Act and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
- Acts as counsel on a variety of litigation and administrative law matters for public sector and private sector clients.
