Gord Buck is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Construction & Engineering, Environmental and Insolvency & Restructuring Practices. He maintains a broad civil litigation practice with an emphasis on professional liability defence, environmental and contaminated site litigation, and the resolution of construction and commercial disputes.
Gord received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg in 2001 and obtained his law degree from the University of Victoria in 2004. He was a member of UVic’s championship Gale Cup Mooting Competition team in 2004. Gord clerked with the British Columbia Supreme Court in 2004-2005 and was called to the BC Bar in 2006.
Gord has appeared at all levels of Court in British Columbia, including Supreme Court trials, injunction applications, summary trial proceedings, petitions for judicial review and appellate hearings. He also has experience conducting settlement conferences and mediations, and regularly advises clients with respect to litigation matters.
Gord’s representative experience includes matters involving construction disputes, judicial review of decisions by public authorities, franchising disputes, commercial leasing disputes, professional liability claims, insolvency and restructuring, contaminated sites litigation, sale of goods, and creditors’ remedies.
