PRACTICE PROFILE

Laura Hanson is a member of the firm’s Insurance Practice Group. Her practice includes a wide variety of insurance defence matters, including product-liability and professional indemnity claims. She also provides coverage opinions on a regular basis. Prior to joining Alexander Holburn, Laura practiced at an international law firm in Alberta.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCES

Laura has conducted trials in the Provincial Court of Alberta and appeared at the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench. She has also represented an electricity company in Alberta in two arbitrations, an employer at an Employment Standards Appeal Hearing, and has participated in mediations on behalf of insurers.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Throughout university, Laura sang in an all-girl folk-rock band and sang the national anthem at a Toronto Blue Jays game. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, rollerblading and running.
