PRACTICE PROFILE

Megan completed her articles with Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang LLP in 2007 and is a member of the firm’s Local Government and Insurance practices. Megan practices municipal law, administrative law and general insurance litigation.

Before completing her articles, Megan clerked for the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal and completed a three month internship working for a legal centre in Israel. Megan obtained her LL.B from the University of Alberta.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

Megan has appeared before the British Columbia Supreme Court and the British Columbia Provincial Court on a variety of matters. She has represented clients in interlocutory applications, a Provincial Court trial and judicial review hearings of decisions of the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal and the British Columbia Residential Tenancy Branch. Megan has participated in matters before the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal including participating as counsel in a lengthy and complex hearing. Megan is currently representing municipalities in the B.C. Supreme Court in actions regarding personal injury, trespass and false arrest.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Prior to obtaining her law degree, Megan obtained her Master of Education from the University of Alberta and spent six years teaching elementary school. Megan enjoys hiking, yoga, theatre, sailing and food-related activities.
