PRACTICE PROFILE

Robert Pakrul is a member of the Corporate/Commercial Practice. He also participates in the Health, Privacy, and Transportation groups.

His practice is primarily corporate commercial based with an emphasis on information and privacy, transportation law, entertainment, and mergers and acquisitions. He provides advice to a wide variety of organizations in various industry sectors. Mr. Pakrul has significant experience working with both large and small non-profit organizations and foundations in their creation, governance, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day operations.

Mr. Pakrul also advises on public safety law, providing advice to emergency communications corporations and other public safety bodies in British Columbia on matters such as liability and statutory immunity, the legal impact of new and emerging technologies and regulatory matters affecting 9-1-1 services.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCES

  • Assists a major railroad on various aspects of regulatory compliance and contractual relations.
  • Establishing customer and employee privacy policies for organizations.
  • Advising health authorities on service provider relationships and support services.
  • Advising Canadian subsidiaries of foreign corporations in a worldwide reorganization and refinancing.
  • Establishing a $100 million endowment foundation for health research.
  • Negotiating 9-1-1 Service Contracts with municipalities.
