PRACTICE PROFILE
Ross Shamenski is a member of the firm’s Insurance Practice. His practice is primarily litigation-based with an emphasis on property insurance, general and commercial insurance liability matters, including product liability, fire losses, business interruption, sue and labour issues, occupiers’ liability, fidelity bond, film industry claims, sexual abuse, insurance fraud and arson claims.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Has handled numerous fire losses including product liability and advancing various large subrogated commercial fire losses involving extensive use of engineers.
- Handled many mining related losses, in particular insurance coverage for property losses.
- Has handled coverage disputes between primary and excess insurers, determination of coverage under all types of policies and subrogated claims for insurers
- Handled commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, several complex bankruptcy and wills and estate matters.
- Participated as member of the litigation team which successfully negotiated a settlement to a complex case arising from the flooding of a potash mine in Saskatchewan.
