 Practice Profile

Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang LLP's Corporate/Commercial Practice advises and represents clients ranging from new local start-ups seeking to capitalize on the entrepreneurial opportunities presented by 2010, through established mid-sized regionally based companies, institutional clients and not-for-profit clients through to larger national and international companies that have business connections in the Lower Mainland and the surrounding region.

Our lawyers have experience across the industry spectrum in B.C. and many of us have developed specialized knowledge in specific areas.  This pool of talent means we are equally comfortable working with the daily operational corporate requirements of manufacturing clients as we are handling intellectual property issues for clients in the high tech sector, assisting clients in a franchise transaction or advising and acting for corporate clients in the transportation sector.

Doing Business in CanadaClick to Enlarge

Doing Business in Canada is a general overview of Canadian law applicable to non-Canadian businesses considering conducting business in Canada.

Geographically and culturally, Canada is one of the largest and most diverse countries in the world.  It is a great place to do business but does require an understanding of the "lay of the land".  We have two official languages (English and French), as well as two legal systems (common and civil law).  We are comprised of ten provinces and three territories. Some areas of law are governed federally, some provincially, and some through a combination of the two.  We can assist you in navigating these issues to access a powerful target marketplace.

"Doing Business in Canada" provides a good summary of the requirements and idiosyncrasies of conducing business within Canadian borders.  For more information on this booklet, please email info@ahbl.ca.
