Charitable donations program:
Part of Alexander Holburn's operating budget is an allocation of funds for charitable giving. As you can imagine, we receive literally hundreds of requests each year for support funding. One of the deciding factors to help us select which of these worthy causes includes personal involvement by our own people. If a lawyer or staff member is on a board, or otherwise giving of his/her time or skills for a charitable cause, that significantly increases the chances that we will respond positively to charitable requests for that organization. In this way, we help to reward and encourage grassroots involvement in such causes by our people. We are proud to support the following charitable organizations:
Alexander Holburn has always been a significant contributor to Canadian Blood Services. In fact, our firm was recently awarded the Canadian Blood Services May Legal Challenge for the third year in a row. This award recognized our firm for making the greatest number of blood donations (by lawyers and staff) of all downtown Vancouver law firms. This year, we are proud to say that we doubled the donations of our nearest competitor! Alexander Holburn was also the highest law firm blood donor throughout 2007 in the Canadian Blood Services Partners for Life Program, an honour we hope to earn again at the end of 2008.
