As of November 28, 2016, the existing Society Act of BC has been repealed and replaced by the new Societies Act of BC. Over 25,000 societies incorporated in British Columbia will need to adapt the new electronic filing system that will be fully implemented by November 28, 2018. This means that societies will need to make certain adjustments to their constitution and bylaws as part of the transition process. The deadline to complete these adjustments is November 28, 2018.
