Courtenay joined the team as an Articling Student in summer 2020 after completing her J.D. at the University of Saskatchewan. Before joining the team, she worked at a professional regulatory body where she developed a passion for professional liability and privacy law. Courtenay is also interested in appellate advisory, civil litigation, and local government.
During law school, Courtenay was the president of the environmental law club, volunteered with a poverty law clinic, and led an initiative supporting underprivileged families. In her second year, she had the unique experience of participating in the Willms & Shier Environmental Law Moot where she met the Supreme Court of Canada Justice who opined the dissenting judgement on the case she argued for. In her final year, Courtenay did a semester abroad at the University of Helsinki in Finland.
Before law school, Courtenay obtained her B.A. in Criminology and Gender Studies and worked in the service industry which funded her passion for travel.
