Daniel Thompson is a Partner and a member of the firm’s Construction + Engineering, Insurance, and Product Liability Practices.

Daniel acts for clients in almost every sector of the construction industry ranging from national and international clients to general contractors, architects, and engineers on issues related to commercial construction disputes including product and professional liability, construction defects, builders liens, and any related contract or commercial disputes that arise during course-of-construction.

Daniel also represents international manufacturers in product liability claims, including fire-related claims.

Daniel began his career in engineering. His focus included Project Management in the civil construction industry as well as forensic investigations and building sciences. He also gained experience working with an international engineering consulting firm, a large Community Housing Corporation as well as for a land development company in British Columbia. Daniel obtained his certification as a Fire, Explosion and Arson Investigator and has been qualified as an expert in fire origin and cause investigations by the Ontario Superior Court.

Daniel leverages his broad experience in law, engineering, and project management to assist clients looking for creative solutions to difficult problems. Whether the client is seeking to settle a dispute or litigate, Daniel is well-versed in supporting his clients reach their business objectives through settlement, mediation, arbitration or at trial.

On A Personal Note...

Daniel is currently based in Kelowna, British Columbia, but maintains his practice across Canada and frequents Alexander Holburn’s offices in Vancouver and Toronto. In his spare time, Daniel can be found enjoying all that the Okanagan has to offer. His hobbies include kayaking, hiking, bike riding, and enjoying the various wineries all across the Okanagan and Similkameen Valley.
