Melia Moorhouse is an Associate in the firm’s Environmental, Insurance, and Corporate/Commercial practice groups. Her practice is litigation-focused and includes a variety of areas of law including contractual disputes, property damage, environmental-regulatory offences, occupiers’ liability claims, personal injury and negligence claims.
Melia has assisted on complex litigation files involving the Fisheries Act and the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.
Melia both summered and completed her articles with the firm. She attended the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where she served as a board member for East Coast Environmental Law. During law school, Melia received a number of awards, including the A.S. Pattillo Prize for Advocacy. She was also the Blakes Scholar from Dalhousie University in 2016. Prior to law school, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Philosophy and Economics from the University of British Columbia.
