Melody joined Alexander Holburn as an articling student in June 2020.
She completed a degree at the University of British Columbia in International Relations with a minor in Psychology. During that time, she was an active member of the UBC Equity Ambassadors and organized many diversity based events. Prior to law school, she worked in Tokyo teaching English and Economics.
Melody is keenly interested in litigation, with particular enthusiasm for local government work and administrative law.
As a law student, she served as the Executive Director of the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, overseeing a governance review and securing new funding streams for the program. Furthermore, she acted as an Academic Director for the UBC Law Students’ Society and was the External Relations Director for the UBC Asia Pacific Law Club.
Melody was also a member of the 2019 VIS International Commercial Arbitration moot team. In her final year, she participated in a Judicial Externship where she worked for Provincial Court Judges across British Columbia. She was a recipient of the Law Foundation Public Interest Award for her work in the community.
