Michael has litigated and arbitrated at the Ontario Court of Appeal, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice, Ontario Small Claims Court, License Appeal Tribunal, Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Michael’s practice focuses primarily on commercial and civil litigation, insurance, business disputes, personal injury, product liability, occupiers’ liability, coverage disputes, subrogation, and statutory accident benefits.
In his role as a commercial and civil litigator, Michael has successfully defended numerous claims against individuals, businesses, insurance companies, transit authorities and municipalities. Michael has litigated claims involving personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, product liability, occupiers’ liability, professional liability, property damage, assaults, fraud, willful misrepresentation, priority and loss transfer disputes as well as claims under the Repair and Storage Liens Act.
Michael has a track record for dismissing claims early in litigation resulting in considerable costs awarded to his clients due to a party’s delay and failure to comply with the Rules of Civil Procedure and other relevant legislation.
Michael has been successful at trials, LAT hearings, arbitrations and summary judgment motions and is well-versed in procedural motions and enforcement of orders and judgments.
