Nicholas joined Alexander Holburn as a summer student in 2019 and returned for articles in 2021 after completing a clerkship with the BC Supreme Court.

Nicholas completed his law degree at the University of British Columbia, where he received the lacobucci Prize in Family Law and the Tracey Gibb Memorial Scholarship. He also conducted two independent research projects, worked as a research assistant to several professors, served as a clinic head with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, and was published in a peer-reviewed law journal. Prior to entering law school, Nicholas conducted legal research on Indigenous-settler relations at the University of Western Australia as a QEII Diamond Jubilee Establishing Right Relations Scholar.

Competing in the Jessup Moot and his judicial externship with the BC Provincial Court rank among Nicholas’ favourite law school experiences. Though a generalist by nature, these experiences have confirmed his strong interest in litigation.

On A Personal Note...

Outside of law, Nicholas is particularly passionate about backcountry camping and outdoor activities. Whether snowshoeing and skiing in the winter or hiking and scrambling in the summer, outside of work Nicholas can most likely be found above the treeline or dreaming up his next adventure.
