Anil is a lawyer in our Insurance, Strata Property, and Residential Tenancy Group, with a practice primarily focused on litigation.
His expertise is mainly in strata property matters. In British Columbia, he has appeared before the Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeal, as well as various tribunals, including but not limited to the Civil Resolution Tribunal, the Human Rights Tribunal, and the Residential Tenancy Branch. Anil advises on all areas of strata law, with a focus on strata governance, bylaw enforcement, collections, litigation, human rights, and privacy matters. His recent work also includes societies-related litigation, focusing on document disclosure, oppression claims, and compliance with the Societies Act.
In addition to his practice, Anil serves as an adjudicator for the Employment and Assistance Appeals Tribunal. Furthermore, he enriches the academic community as a Visiting Professor for Simon Fraser University’s Masters in Applied Legal Studies Program, where he lectures on Property Law.
Anil both summered and completed his articles with Alexander Holburn. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia in 2005 and his J.D. in 2015. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Anil worked as a Border Services Officer with the Canada Border Services Agency. As a BSO, he conducted port of entry examinations to ensure traveler compliance with the Customs Act, Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, Criminal Code, and other various Acts of Parliament.
