Krista Prockiw will present a series of webinars on B.C.'s new Insurance Act for the Insurance Brokers Association of B.C. on Wednesday, May 16 2012, from 10am - 12 noon and 2:00pm - 4:00pm and June 13 2012, from 10am - 12 noon and 2:00pm - 4:00pm. The Act, which comes into force on July 1st, will have implications for practitioners in all lines and at all levels of the industry. Krista Prockiw presented on the topic of “The Condominium Conundrum: Insuring Strata Unit Owners” at the IBABC’s Annual Conference and Trade Show in Kelowna on May 10, 2012. Her presentation reviewed recent legislation and Court decisions, with a focus on their impact on strata corporations, council members and unit owners. Patrick Cleary and Gordon Buck hosted the Annual Judges' Lunch at Hotel Vancouver on May 10, 2012, in their respective capacities as President and Executive Member of the Vancouver Bar Association. The Annual Judges' Lunch honours recent appointments to and retirements from the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Provincial Court of British Columbia.
Patrick Cleary addressed the British Columbia Court of Appeal on May 7, 2012 in his capacity as President of the Vancouver Bar Association. At the invitation of The Honourable Chief Justice Lance Finch, Patrick Cleary spoke at a special sitting of the Court in honour of The Honourable D.M.M. Goldie, former Justice of Appeal, who passed away on March 21 at 88 years of age.

They focused on recent legal developments in these areas including a review of the new CCDC 5A and 5B standardized construction management documents.
