Frances is an Associate and a member of the firm’s Defamation, Privacy, Government, and Environmental Practice Groups.
Frances joined Alexander Holburn as a summer student in May 2021 and returned for articles. She clerked for five Justices of the Supreme Court of British Columbia (2023-2024), and then returned to the firm as an associate.
Frances’s practice is litigation-based and she has experience dealing with a wide variety of legal claims, including occupiers’ liability, professional negligence, property damage and personal injury. Frances is dedicated to non-profit work and has sat on the board of directors for various societies, including the Environmental Law Centre and Appeal Law Journal. She was previously President of the McGill Energy Association.
Frances has received numerous academic awards. She achieved the highest standing in Administrative Law, International Law, and Statutory Interpretation, and her awards included the Lawson Lundell LLP Prize in Administrative Law, Jim Ellis Prize in International Law, and the G. Allan Higenbottam Prize.
