Harjot Brar joined Alexander Holburn as a summer student in May 2025.
Harjot is an incoming 3L student at Queen’s University where she enjoys being part of various clubs and programs. Harjot has volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, contributing to a legal memorandum on workplace accommodation requirements for employees with disabilities. She is also a member of the Queen’s Labour and Employment Law Journal where she has honed her attention to detail while editing articles for publication.
Harjot serves as a student caseworker with Queen’s Legal Aid, where she has been able to provide free legal services to the community covering matters from criminal law, employment law,
and human rights issues. Through this role, she has participated in a mediation before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and appeared in the Superior Court of Justice for Criminal Case Management proceedings.
Prior to law school, Harjot completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of British Columbia, where she graduated with high distinction. During her time at UBC, she cofounded CanAm, a health and wellness-focused organization that has since grown into a foundation overseeing university chapters across Canada.
Harjot also worked as a Behaviour Interventionist, supporting children and teens with autism. In this role, she implemented treatment plans, collected behavioural data, and collaborated with a multidisciplinary team. This work exposed her to systemic barriers in autism funding, where she saw firsthand how many families were forced to reduce or discontinue services due to financial constraints. These experiences deepened her passion for advocacy—something she looks forward to further exploring at the frim.
