We are pleased to announce the addition of Partner, Rafal Szymanski, to the firm. Rafal joins our Toronto office as a member of our Insurance, Professional Liability, and Police Law Practice Groups.
Practicing for over 15 years at a large Toronto firm, Rafal is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer with a broad practice defending professionals in complex civil disputes and regulatory proceedings. Known for his practical approach to litigation, he looks for efficient paths to resolution where possible, while bringing strong courtroom advocacy when required.
Rafal routinely acts for financial advisors, insurance agents and brokers, mortgage brokers, appraisers, lawyers, and paralegals in matters involving allegations of negligence, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, and related professional liability issues. His experience also includes advising financial advisors through regulatory investigations and prosecutions.
In his police law practice, Rafal represents police service boards and their insurers in claims involving unlawful arrest, use of force, negligent investigation, and alleged Charter breaches. Clients value his discretion and practical guidance in matters that are often complex, sensitive, and subject to public scrutiny.
