Sophia was hired through the summer recruit as a Summer 2026 2L student.
Before law school, she attended the University of British Columbia, where she studied Microbiology & Immunology. Following graduation, Sophia worked in research and completed a systematic review examining the relationship between the gut microbiome and multiple sclerosis.
During law school, Sophia volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada at the Emergency Protection Order office and served as the Vice President of Finance of Spread the Love Club, an organization that supports individuals experiencing homelessness in Calgary. After her first year, she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Michael Nesbitt at the Faculty of Law during the summer, contributing to ongoing projects including book chapters on research security and terrorism sentencing in Canada.
