Matthew grew up near CFB Comox and was always inspired by seeing the Snowbirds and F-18s fly overhead. At the age of 12 years old Matthew joined Air Cadets to pursue his passion for flying and earned his Glider Pilots Licence within the program. In May 2022, he was one of twenty-four students who got into BCIT’s Airline and Flight Operations Commercial Pilot diploma program. Matthew’s dream is to one day work for Kenn Borek Air and explore some of the most remote places in the world.
In memory of Ernie Alexander, K.C., we are delighted to award an annual $2,000 scholarship in his name. This scholarship is presented to an aviation or aerospace student who demonstrates achievement in his or her community and excels academically.
