Last week, Heather C. Devine, was the Canadian representative at the 2021 TIA 3PL Policy Forum in Washington, DC.
As one of Canada’s foremost Lawyers (recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada and the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for her expertise in transportation and logistics), Heather provided a Canadian perspective in meetings with bi-partisan members of Congress and the Senate regarding H.R. 3042, the Motor Carrier Safety Selection Standard Act of 2021, and S. 2322, the C-TPAT Pilot Program Act of 2021.
Heather’s breadth of experience with clients in the transportation industry, which includes transportation intermediaries, carriers, technology companies, and shippers all of whom have cross border interests, provided a practical but legal-based understanding of the perils of Motor Carrier Selection and how to create affirmative defences to nuclear verdicts, as well as the competitive advantages of CTPAT registration for transportation intermediaries.
