Dessa joined Alexander Holburn as a summer student in May 2022 and has returned for her 2023/2024 articling year.

Dessa is currently attending the University of Ottawa Law. During her first two years, she was a division leader and caseworker at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, a resume and cover letter specialist at the Career and Professional Development Centre, and an editor for the Ottawa Law Review.

Dessa recently received the Greenspon Granger Hill Prize recognizing her enthusiasm and exceptional effort in her work at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic.

Prior to law school, Dessa studied Biology at Queen’s University. Her honours thesis project examined the effect of temperature on metabolic rate in a species of snail used in bioremediation.

On A Personal Note...

Outside of work, Dessa loves exercising, whether it is taking a dance class, doing a spin class, or weightlifting. Notable recent “athletic” achievements include her dodgeball team winning the intramural championships and placing first in her fantasy football league.
