Frances joined Alexander Holburn as a summer student in May 2021 and has returned for her 2022/2023 articling year.
Frances graduated from the University of Victoria in 2022 and is excited to be returning to Alexander Holburn. At law school, Frances was Editor-in-Chief of Appeal Law Journal and worked as both a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant. She volunteered as a Student Advocate for Access Pro Bono and sat on the board of directors for the Environmental Law Centre at the University of Victoria. She will be clerking at the BC Supreme Court in 2023.
Frances has received numerous academic awards. She achieved the highest standing in Administrative Law, International Law, and Statutory Interpretation, and her awards included the Lawson Lundell LLP Prize in Administrative Law, Jim Ellis Prize in International Law, and the G. Allan Higenbottam Prize. Frances was also a nominee for the 2021 Ann Roberts Humanitarian Award.
Outside of law school, Frances completed a Bachelor of Arts at McGill University where she was President of the McGill Energy Association. Her research on human ecology was published in Branches Environment Journal.
