International Women’s Day 2022

In recognition of International Women’s Day, our Women’s Forum held many exciting initiatives to celebrate the women in our lives.

50/50 Virtual Fundraiser

The Alexander Holburn’s Women’s Forum partnered with Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver to support building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty with a virtual 50/50 raffle fundraiser. We also matched the amount taken by the winner to increase the impact of our donation to Habitat for Humanity. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be put towards the Women Build program at the Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver branch.  The Women Build is a fundraising program that gives women the chance to empower themselves and others by raising money and building homes for future Habitat Families. The Women Build program is not about excluding men, but about including women.

Internal Virtual Event

We hosted an internal event to recognize the achievements of the women of Alexander Holburn. We shared a video featuring women from different positions at the firm, including staff, management, lawyers, and students. As the theme this year is #BreakTheBias we learned about how the women at Alexander Holburn are working towards breaking the bias in their lives both inside and outside of the working environment.

Legalign Global Videos

During the week of March 8th, Alexander Holburn joined the Legalign Global partner firms to create a series of daily videos highlighting leading women across our network and their achievements.

  1. #BreakTheBias – Lawyers don’t come in one shape or form. Watch the first video here.
  2. #BreakTheBias – Overcoming parental leave and carer bias. Watch the second video here.
  3. #BreakTheBias – Breaking the bias through allyship. Watch the final video here

Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2022

Volunteers from Alexander Holburn took part in Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build 2022. The Build Day gave volunteers the chance to contribute to building homes for future Habitat Families. Learn more about Habitat for Humanity Build Days and how you can get involved here.
