Anja joined Alexander Holburn as a summer student in May 2021 and will return for articles in 2022.
While studying law at the University of Alberta, Anja volunteered as a caseworker with the Criminal Project at Student Legal Services. She confirmed her keen interest in advocacy by acting as agent for clients in the Provincial Court of Alberta. She also conducted a small study on the impact of litigation and professional complaints on physician well-being and patient care during law school.
During law school, Anja is a research assistant for Dr. Ubaka Ogbogu and has worked on various health-law related topics such as the impacts of mandatory smallpox vaccinations and the lack of race-based data collection during COVID-19.
Prior to law school, Anja figure skated competitively and received her B.Sc. in Psychology with a focus in Neuroscience. Anja enjoys staying connected to the community through her volunteer work with Alberta Health Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and as a judge for a local science fair.
Anja is excited to gain exposure to the broad areas of legal practice offered at Alexander Holburn, and she feels particularly drawn to professional liability, health, and employment law.
