Grace is an associate and a member of the firm’s Insurance practice group.
Grace’s practice is focused on professional negligence, with a growing emphasis on defending construction, financial, and medical professionals. She also has experience handling complicated occupiers’ liability and tavern liability cases.
Grace’s prior experience makes her a well-rounded advocate. Grace started her career in plaintiff side personal injury, which gives her unique insight into handling difficult occupiers’ liability and tavern liability files. She then practiced at a reputable international commercial and investment arbitration firm in Vienna, Austria, where she worked on complex multimillion-dollar construction disputes. This experience now assists Grace in her defence of construction professionals. Finally, before joining Alexander Holburn, Grace practiced at a boutique insurance defence firm. Her experience working with various insurer clients included providing guidance during the claim investigation phase, preparing coverage opinions, and defending claims until resolution. As a result, Grace sees “big picture” and appreciates the nuances that exist when making strategic decisions in the best interest of her clients.
Regardless of the nature of the file, Grace is a pragmatic and no-nonsense litigator dedicated to delivering results – whether in court or a settlement.
Grace has a passion for mentoring law students. In law school, Grace enjoyed competitive mooting. Notably, she received the Best Advocate award at an international moot in Sweden after achieving the highest individual score out of over 350 advocates worldwide. Now, she enjoys staying involved in the mooting community by volunteer judging international moots and, when possible, she likes to volunteer her time to teach oral advocacy skills to law students.
